With so many homeless community cats in our area, its hard to share everyone’s stories. We’ve picked some cats whose stories are tugging on our heart strings. Follow their progress on our FaceBook page.

Marvin

Marvin was found stranded in a maintenance pit at an industrial yard in Richmond. We’re not sure how long he was in the pit, but it took several hours to “fish” him out with a trap and lines. Marvin is dirty, dehydrated, emaciated, and has a broken tail. He is also BLIND. An initial exam showed he was not born blind, so its very likely he was exposed to chemicals in the industrial yard. He’s got a long ways to go, but he is ever so sweet, doing elevator butt and swinging his broken tail around.

Maul

This battle weary intact male cat showed up at a known cat colony. This poor guy has had a rough life! After a few days, we were able to trap him. Possible ringworm and/or mites may be the cause of his skin issues, but he has open wounds from cat fights, and probably more medical issues. We will work to find the best solution for his quality of life.

Ivan

A good Samaritan rescued Ivan in Hercules. He was being attacked by a dog and had no where to go! Despite his injuries, Ivan is not terrible at all – he purrs every time he’s touched and makes sleepy love eyes as he receives continuous medical care.
